My name is, Jimmy Pittsford. I am the Democratic candidate for Indiana’s 46th house
district. I was born in Bloomington, raised in Ellettsville, and graduated from Edgewood High School.
I come from a long line of union service. My grandfather was the first Business Agent for UA
Local 286 in Austin, Texas. My father was the President of UA Local 515 in Bloomington,
Indiana when they merged with UA Local 136 in Evansville, Indiana. In December of 1985
my father was elected as a Field Representative covering the area that used to be Local 515.
After graduation, I was accepted as an apprentice for Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 136.
The same union of which my father and grandfather were already members. I am now
retired, having worked for 40 years as an active member. I have served as an elected officer
of the local: two terms as a member of the executive board and one term on the finance
committee.
For too long the people in the State House have under valued the working class. Let’s change that. I have never been intimidated by bullies, and I want to be your voice in the Indiana House of Representatives.
I am rooted in my faith and have been an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Owen County.
